Self Talk
Interestingly, today I came across the concept of self-talk.
We all do it, every single day, in small and big decisions. One big difference that lies between what we do and the effective self-talk is consciousness and truly questioning your perspectives, without any bias.
Every decision that we take in our lives, either trivial or crucial, is driven by a thought process clouded with bias. This not only limits us in our capabilities, but also in our view of pathways ahead of us.
Bias fuelled self-talk:
- Limits objectivity
- Blurs long term vision
- Infects one more with the same outlooks
Profound take by the author who wrote about this. Of course, I have paraphrased a bit here, as I am writing from my memory. Regardless, I will apply this and see how it works.
